The University of the Philippines’ jubilarians for this year are getting a special treat.
The UP Alumni Association (UPAA), responsible for the annual memorabilia of the university’s alumni, is coming out with a once-in-a-lifetime Centennial Yearbook in three volumes, packaged in a specially-designed box.
Focusing on the theme “UP Alumni: Excellence, Leadership and Service,” this special publication will be launched and sold during the UPAA’s Grand Alumni Homecoming and Reunion on June 21 at the Araneta Coliseum.
Volume 1 will feature outstanding alumni awardees and University facts and figures.
Volume 2 will be a memento of Centennial Jubilarians: Royal Diamond (pre-1948), Diamond (1948), Emerald (1953), Gold (1958), Sapphire (1963), Ruby (1968), Coral (1973), Pearl (1978) and Silver (1983)..
Volume 3 will focus on UPAA as a vibrant network of chapters and alumni organizations, across the country and all over the world.
A guaranteed collector’s item, the Centennial Yearbook will also feature the works of UP alumni and National Artists Napoleon Abueva, Abdul Imao and Benedicto “Bencab” Cabrera.
Centennial Jubilarians are enjoined to have their photos taken at Kodak/Kameraworld outlets with digital facilities not later than April 15 to be included in the yearbook.
Alumni associations of UP, accredited with UPAA or not, are also called upon to participate in this historical project.
